Let's talk about: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

After reading the book with my daughters, we watched the movie.
It was so much fun.
Watching it with them reminds me of the first time I saw it.
It is just magical.
I think that they did a pretty good job of adapting the book although there were a few things missing that I wish had been in the film.
Mostly, I wish that when the kids go through the trap door that they had included the potions test.
That was my favorite of the protections put in place. Abigail (my 9 year old) brought that up as well.
After watching the movie I asked the girls to rate it.

Abi said that out of five stars she would give it a 63!

Maddy, however, said she would only give it one star. And that one star was only awarded because she liked the baby dragon.
The main reason she didn't like the movie was that she was afraid of Fluffy and spent the whole thing worried about the next time she would see the dog. I told her I would warn her before he was onscreen again but she still worried about it.
This was pretty much her for a lot of it...

I thought it was really fun to go back after having watched the three main actors grow up in these films and see them when they were SO young.
Cute kids!

I think for Maddy's particular personality the movies might be a little too scary.
I will have to see how she does on each book as we go since they get more intense as they go along.
But Abi is the perfect age for it and is loving it as much as I do so far which makes me very happy!

*Have your kids watched Harry Potter?
*If they haven't or if you don't have kids, how old were you when you read/ watched it for the first time?
*How do you like the film?
*Were there any things they left out that you wished were there?

I love this movie; I think it might be my most favorite of all of them! My kids like it a lot too.

Hey, did you realize that little blonde Gryffindor is Julianne Hough? Probably, but since you didn't mention it, I thought I would.

Julie- I actually had NO idea that was Julianne Hough. I don't know much about her. Interesting!
